JUST IN: UEFA to announce new venue for this season’s UCL final after Russia attacked Ukraine
UEFA will not host this season’s Champions League final in St Petersburg after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine
The St Petersburg football stadium in Russia was all set to host the UEFA Champions League final 2022 in May. However, going by the current tension between Russia and Ukraine the final seems unlikely to happen though UEFA is yet to take the decision on the matter. The 2021-22 Champions League final was all set to happen at the Gazprom Arena in St Petersburg, which is the home ground of Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg.
