Check Out People Who Are Born With Extra Body Part (See Photos)

Having an extra body part, known as a supernumerary body part, is a rare medical condition that can manifest in various ways.

One of the most common examples is polydactyly, where individuals are born with extra fingers or toes. While it might seem unusual, it’s primarily the result of genetic mutations during fetal development.

Polydactyly can be both a cosmetic and functional concern. In some cases, the extra digit is fully formed and functional, while in others, it may be a small, non-functional growth. Surgical intervention is often considered to remove or correct the extra body part, especially when it hinders normal hand or foot function or causes discomfort.

However, having an extra body part isn’t limited to limbs; it can also occur in internal organs, such as extra kidneys or even hearts. These cases are even rarer and usually discovered incidentally during medical imaging or surgery for unrelated conditions.
