When Ronaldo Described Lionel Messi as a ‘Complete Football’ in GOAT Debate

The debate over which player, Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, is superior is perhaps the most divisive argument in football, drawing varying opinions from fans and experts alike.

Even after sharing the football stage for over a decade, distinguishing between the two has become increasingly challenging for fans.

With compelling opinions and extensive statistics to support their claims, supporters of both Messi and Ronaldo have remained unyielding in the perpetual debate.

In 2013, Ronaldo de Lima, the former Real Madrid and Barcelona striker, added his voice to the ongoing debate about the greatest footballer of all time (GOAT), revealing his preference between the two iconic football gods.

“I would stick with Messi. It is difficult. It is like when you are looking to buy a house, and they offer you many nice ones, but you need to pick one,” the 2002 World Cup winner said as quoted by Bleacher Report.
The Brazilian, a three-time World Footballer of the Year winner, declared that, in his opinion, Leo Messi was a ‘more complete’ footballer than his longstanding rival.

“Messi seems more complete to me, or at least more decisive. In the important moments, he appears and scores goals.

According to GOAL, the 36-year-old is in pole position to win a record-extending eighth Ballon d’Or prize, stretching the gap between himself and his eternal nemesis, who now plies his trade in the Saudi Pro League with Al-Nassr.

Zidane weighs in on GOAT debate

In a related publication, Sports Brief reported that Zinedine Zidane’s past remarks on the ‘greatest of all time’ debate have resurfaced, drawing attention to the discussion once again.

The former French international was previously asked to pick between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, and he explained why he thought the Portuguese star was better than the Argentinian.

“Cristiano is the best. Messi is his rival, and it’s the rivalry everyone wants to see. But Ronaldo is phenomenal. There are no words to describe him. He is much better than me, even though I had a great career. He’s the greatest of all time,” he said at the time.

Scientific research settles GOAT debate

Still, on the never-ending Cristiano Ronaldo vs Messi GOAT debate, Sports Brief reported that scientific research has somehow settled the discussion on who is the better between the pair

The two football icons have dominated the football scene for years, with the duo winning an incredible 12 Ballon d’Or awards between them.

Somehow, science, through Liverpool’s outgoing director of research Ian Graham has settled the GOAT debate.
