“When We Got To A Place In Ibadan, The Pilot Said If We Land Here, This Thing Will Blow Off” – Peter Obi Lament
The Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, after being honored with the position of pro-chancellor of Dominican University, apologized to the school for coming late, stating that his helicopter contributed to his being late.
Peter Obi stated that when they got to Ibadan, they saw two places where they could have landed for him to get there early, but the pilot objected and said if they landed there, the helicopter would blow off.
He further stated that they flew to the airport, where he landed, and that he was forced to see the Olu of Ibadan before coming to the venue.
According to him, “I tried everything possible to be here on time, but I didn’t mention it to the two fathers I was speaking to.” I said must be here on time and have to do everything possible, so used a helicopter, and we got to two places in Ibadan, but the pilot said if we land here, this thing will blow off, and told him to go to the airport.
When we get to the airport, I was told that I have to go and see the Olu of Ibadan because the last time I came here, I didn’t go there. So I’m kneeling down to apologize and say that such a thing will never happen again.”
