The President’s condolence message was proclaimed by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, in a statement titled, ‘President Buhari mourns Nasarawa Miyetti Allah leaders.’

According to Shehu, President Buhari called on Fulani leaders in the state to choose new leaders that will build on the foundation of peace laid by their slain leaders.

He also quoted the President to have reiterated the determination of his administration to work with all members of the society to rid the country of terrorists, bandits and kidnappers.

“The President described the late state leader, Alhaji Mohammed Husaini who was among those murdered as a beacon of peace for Nasarawa State and the subregion.

“In praying for the repose of the souls of those killed, President Buhari urged the Fulani leaders in the state to choose new leaders who will build on the foundations of peace set up by the Husaini-led leadership.

“The President reiterated the determination of his administration to work with all members of the society to rid the country of terrorists, bandits and kidnappers.”

Buhari’s Supporters Storm Abuja House In London

Meanwhile, supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari are currently at the Nigerian Diplomatic Mission in London.

Popularly known as Abuja House, the protesters stormed the residence with placards which have inscriptions such as “This Storm Will Surely Pass”, “God Loves Nigeria”, “We Are Stronger Together”, among others.

Anti-Buhari supporters led by Reno Omokri, a former aide of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, have been protesting in front of the house for some days.

Pro-Buhari Protesters

They had asked the president, whom they accused of wasting taxpayers money, to return to Nigeria immediately.

Omokri had said the protesters laid a siege to the house and Buhari had been denied access to his doctors.

But speaking during the protest, one of the supporters of the president described Omokri’s claim as fake news.

“There is the news about the president being held hostage, everyone could see, to my left, my right, you can see that there is nothing there, no one is being held hostage, it’s all fake news. But we are here today to actually show support to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, that we are here for you, Nigeria in the diaspora actually support you.

“We support you for the great things you are doing in the country, obviously, definitely, there is no country with perfect government, there is no perfect government out there. We are saying that despite the challenge in the country, Nigerians in diaspora support him. Nigerians in Nigeria also support him and we will continue doing that.

We thank you Mr President for every single thing that you have done.

We thank you Mr. President for being loyal to the citizens of the country, we thank you Mr. President, for the people oriented policies, we thank you Mr President for the youth-oriented policies, we thank you Mr President for turning the entire Nigeria into a construction site, there are roads being constructed, there are rail being constructed, there are infrastructure being put to the north, to the west, to the east to the south.”

Anti-Buhari protesters

Buhari is currently on a medical vacation in the UK.

He left the country on the eve of a nationwide strike by the National Association of Resident Doctors and this sparked an outrage.
