The 1 million boys is the code name of a notorious robbery that operated in Lagos and its environs and the activities of the group popped up its ugly head again during the Covid 19 pandemic lockdown.

The group was originally formed by a group of 20 young men in Ajegunle part of Lagos state with the sole aim of fighting oppression and Injustice in the city but a fraction of the group turned the group into a robbery gang.

More than 140 individuals suspected to be members of the group were arrested during a raid in Ajegunle and Apapa by the Lagos State Command on 9 October 2012.

The activities of the group resurfaced in full force again during the covid 19 lockdown with Biola Ebila as their gang leader.

The group maimed, raped and rob innocent residents of the state and in most cases, the gang sends letters informing their victims of their planned robbery and the amount of money that should be kept for them.

The leader of the Notorious group of hooligans and robbery gang was on wanted list of the Oyo state Police command was killed in a gun battle in Ibadan.

Ebila who was the leader of the dreaded 1 million boys, the gang that perpetuated an orgy of crime and violence in the state.

Olomi made the top wanted list of the police after killing Ekugbemi who was a leader of another violent gang.

According to reliable Sources who said the gang leader, Ebila was shot dead during a violent clash in Ibadan while other sources said he the gang leader was gunned down by men of the security forces when he resisted arrest.

According to information gathered, the deceased was shot dead at Olomi area of Ibadan during a violent clash.

Another source who confided in Vanguard claimed that the gang leader was shot by security agents when he was resisting arrest.

While confirming his death, the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gbenga Fadeyi told Vanguard in a telephone interview that the corpse of the notorious gang, Ebila was brought to the police in a tricycle this afternoon.

The One Million Boys and Idi Igi Boys were behind many violent attacks in Ibadan which led to the death and destruction of so many properties.
