10 Nigerian Students kidnapped On Major Highway – See Details

Unknown bandits suspected to be abductors have kidnapped at least 10 students of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, along Abuja-Kaduna Highway , sources told Peoples Gazzette Monday.
The source who prefers to speak under anonymity, said the students who are on a road trip to Lagos, were abducted shortly after they departed Kaduna at about 2:00 pm Sunday.

It was gathered that the victims are all 300level students of the Department of French who are embarking on a road trip to Lagos, for a mandatory language imerssion programme, at the Nigeria French Language Village in Badagry, which was initially delayed by Corona virus.

The source noted that the kidnappers have reach out to the family one of the victims identified as Jemimah Badmus demanding for a N30 million ransom.

The Gazette was told that one of the students who tried to escape was shot during the release one a nursing mother amongst the students.

Kaduna Police Command spokesperson did not return several calls for comments as at the time of filing in this report.

Last week, The Gazette reported how bandits killed two and kidnaped many along the notorious Abuja-Kaduna Highway.
