Arsenal stunned Manchester City to reach the FA Cup final as Pep Guardiola was dumped out of the competition thanks to a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang double. It meant Mikel Arteta got one over his fellow Spaniard and will have a chance to win his first silverware in the final.

Aubameyang netted impressively in the 19th minute to give the Gunners an opportunity to cause a shock..

City struggled to create many clear cut chances as Arsenal went into the break with a narrow advantage.

Aubameyang showed his class again in the second half as he finished expertly following a superb through ball from Kieran Tierney.

It means Arsenal have an opportunity to win an unprecendented 14th FA Cup when the final takes place at Wembley on Saturday, August 1.

The Gunners will take on either Manchester United or Chelsea who play their semi-final match on Sunday (6pm).

City’s defence struggled to cope with the likes of Aubameyang and questions will remain about the fragility of their backline.

Guardiola picked Eric Garcia and Aymeric Laporte as his defensiver partnership for the clash but they were unable to cope with the Arsenal attack.

Chris Sutton was impressed with how much Arsenal were able to dig in and pull off a remarkable win.
