Muslims Kill Man, Mother And Daughter For Converting From Islam To Christianity
In the eastern region of Uganda, tragic incidents of religious persecution unfolded last month, leaving a trail of sorrow and pain.
In Busei B village, Nakalama Sub- County, ganga District, Ronald Twinomugisha, an evangelist, met a gruesome fate on March 30.
Despite receiving ominous text messages from Muslims, he courageously continued his mission, which ultimately cost him his life at the age of 32.
Twinomugisha, who had relocated from western Uganda, had successfully led four individuals from the Muslim faith to Christianity, prompting threats from their families.
The night of his murder, witnesses recounted seeing men clad in Islamic attire entering Twinomugisha’s residence.
Soon after, cries for help pierced the night, with Twinomugisha pleading for his life, affirming his dedication to Jesus Christ.
The attackers, driven by their extremist beliefs, left behind a chilling message condemning Twinomugisha’s actions.
Meanwhile, in Namutumba District, Zafara Nagudi, 33, and her 10- year-old daughter, Sharifa Nangobi, faced a horrifying ordeal in their own home.
Unaware of her husband’s return, Nagudi and her daughter were immersed in prayer when he discovered them.
Nagudi, who had embraced Christianity six months prior, faced her husband’s wrath as he subjected her and their daughter to a brutal assault, culminating in scalding them with boiling water.
Despite the pain and trauma inflicted upon them, Nagudi and her daughter managed to seek medical help with the assistance of family members. Their physical wounds may heal, but the emotional scars of persecution run deep.
These harrowing incidents underscore the ongoing persecution faced by Christians in Uganda.
While the country’s constitution guarantees religious freedom, the reality on the ground paints a different picture, especially in areas with high Muslim populations.
As we reflect on these tragedies, let us not forget the resilience of those who face persecution for their faith.
Their courage in the face of adversity serves as a beacon of hope amidst darkness, reminding us of the importance of defending religious freedom for all.
