Tinubu launches 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day emblem and approves N18bn assurance policy for fallen heroes’ families

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has led the Emblem Appeal launch for the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day. The launch was held at the State House in Abuja on October 25, 2023.


The annual ceremony is a tribute to the courageous men and women who have served in Nigeria’s armed forces.

During the event, President Tinubu praised the Nigerian armed forces for their dedication to securing the nation.

He emphasized the importance of providing a safe and secure environment, free from threats and criminal activities, where all residents can flourish and live in peace.

He also expressed profound gratitude to the gallant troops who have risen to the challenge of protecting the nation.

The president said;

“Our foremost objective is to provide a conducive environment free from threats and criminality to enable all who reside within our borders to thrive and live in peace.

“For this reason, we owe a debt of gratitude to our gallant troops who have risen to the challenge of securing this great nation.

“It is also our humble way of appreciating the veterans and the families of their fallen colleagues,

“I wish to call on all Nigerians and non-Nigerians residing in the country, irrespective of their political affiliation or religious beliefs, to adorn the emblem with pride and identify with those who laid down their lives for the peace and security of our dear nation.”

The Armed Forces Remembrance Day emblem remains a symbol of remembrance and a beacon of hope for a peaceful future.
