“You abandoned 4 children for me for the past four years” – Nigerian woman cries as she calls out estranged husband

A Nigerian woman, Josephine Ify Obi has publicly accused her ex-husband, Emmanuel Edegware, of neglecting their four children after she refused to return to their marriage, alleging domestic violence.

She made this known in a Facebook comment on Friday, December 27, under a post addressing absentee fathers and irresponsible single mothers.

Ify expressed her frustrations over being solely responsible for her children’s education, feeding, and medical expenses.

She stated:

“Pay the children’s school fees to the school account, buy foodstuff for them and other necessary items, pay their medical bills, I don’t have a problem with that so long as we’re at peace. But still, he disagrees because I don’t want to be beaten every day again. You abandoned 4 children for me for the past four years.”

Ify also mentioned that financial constraints have prevented her from taking legal action against Edegware, leaving her to manage the responsibilities of raising their children alone.

“They told me to take him to court — with which money when I am the only one paying school fees and feeding, clothing, caring for four kids?” she lamented.

The situation has sparked discussions online, with many sympathizing with her plight and criticizing parents who neglect their responsibilities.
