“I Am Reminding Peter Obi Now That No Fresh Documents Will Be Allowed In The Supreme Court” – Arabambi Lament
The factional National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, Abayomi Arabambi has urged the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the last general elections, Peter Obi not to go to the supreme court after his case against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was struck out at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja on Wednesday.
Recall that according to the Independent National Electoral Commission, former Governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu defeated other strong contenders including Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP to clinch the apex political seat in the country.
The presidential candidates of the Labour Party, Peter Obi and that of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar challenged the victory of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the Presidential Election Tribunal in Abuja and their petitions have been struck out by the court last Wednesday.
The Punch paper reported that Abayomi Arabambi, in an exclusive interview said;
“I believe that going to the Supreme Court is just a sheer waste of time. The apex court is not a court of first instance in the presidential election.”
He stated further;
“The Appeal Court is and his lawyers need to tell him. If they fail to tell him, I am reminding Obi now that no fresh documents will be allowed in the Supreme Court. It is what you have that they are going to debate. No new thing can be introduced.”
