Protesters storm INEC office with native doctor to perform ritual (Video below)

A group of demonstrators on Tuesday, stormed the Rivers State headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Port Harcourt with a native doctor.


The protesters said to be supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) besieged the main entrance to the office while carrying a pot of charms and palm fronds.

It was the second day of continued protest to demand a joint inspection of election materials at the INEC office used for the 2023 governorship election.

On Monday, the PDP supporters reportedly attacked the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Tonye Cole, and prevented him from accessing the office of the electoral umpire where he was scheduled to meet with the officials of the commission.

Chairman of Ikwerre local government, Samuel Nwanosike, who dressed in a white outfit recited incantations while being assisted by the herbalist.
