SO SAD: 8 Madonna University students burnt to death in a terrible accident

A bus conveying students of Madonna University, Rivers State, was involved in a horrific accident and went up in flames on Saturday.


At least 8 students of the varsity were burnt to the death in the terrible accident which occurred at TTC/Special Science School junction along the trans-Saharan road in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

The bus was reportedly traveling from Port Harcourt to Taraba State when it crashed on Saturday, February 18.

It was gathered that the students were returning to their respective homes ahead of the upcoming general elections on Saturday, February 25.

One of the victims has been identified as Grace Usman Ezra after her relative took to Facebook to mourn her unfortunate demise.

A hospital worker took to Twitter to disclose that some of the victims who managed to escape suffered multiple fractures, while some suffered varying degrees of burns.


She tweeted,

“Working in the hospital can be very depressing atimes. A bus carrying Madonna students traveling for the elections collided with a Sienna and the bus burnt. Now these poor kids are in the A&E all in pains.

Those that managed to jump out all have multiple fractures. In and out of surgeries since last night. The burns units, OR and A&E staff hasn’t rested since last night.
So far, we haven’t lost any.
Keep praying for them.”
