Cristiano Ronaldo was taunted by Al-Ittihad fans, who chanted Lionel Messi’s name at him at Al-Nassr’s Saudi Super Cup defeat.

His second appearance for his new club saw Al-Nassr get dumped out at the semi-final stage, losing 3-1 to Al-Ittihad.

Goals from Romarinho and Abderazzak Hamdallah put home side Al-Ittihad 2-0 up before Talisca, who got Al-Nassr’s winner at the weekend, pulled one back.

A stoppage-time strike from Muhannad Al-Shanqeeti sealed the fate of Ronaldo and Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo’s arrival was labelled as ‘history in the making’, the 37-year-old being given a heroes’ welcome on arrival, as well as a eye-watering £177million-a-year contract.
