Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has mocked the club over the rumoured £1million fine veteran forward, Cristiano Ronaldo is set to receive following his interview with ace presenter, Piers Morgan..

Ronaldo in a recent explosive interview published on Sunday evening, criticised Manchester United and their manager, Erik ten Hag for various reasons.

The Portugal international said he has no respect for the Dutch manager and slammed the club’s hierarchy over poor management of the Old Trafford outfit.

It was reported on Monday that Ronaldo will be fined two weeks’ wages and that amounts to around £1million.

And Rio Ferdinand, a former England and Manchester United defender, feels such a punishment will barely register given Ronaldo’s wealth.

“I’ve just seen by the way that they reckon Ronaldo has been fined £1million, that’s what they’re saying. But that’s two weeks’ wages,” Ferdinand told Vibe with FIVE.

“What he’s doing right, he’s actually picking up one of his sofa pillows and just gonna go [licks fingers and does flicking motion] dust, and just be doing that for a couple of minutes.

“You think that’s going to touch the sides? You think £1milllion is going to touch the sides with this guy? Come on man.

“But that’s all they can do, two weeks’ wages.”

Ronaldo has since joined up with his Portugal team-mates ahead of their friendly match against Nigeria on Thursday before their World Cup Group H opener against Ghana in Qatar a week later.
