Major General John Enenche, a former director of defence and information has been in the news recently following his appointment in the Labour Party campaign council, and then his removal after the video of which he denied that the Lekki Toll Gate Massacre didn’t happen was leaked online.

However, in a one-on-one interview with Channels Tv, the General asserted that this is a moment of self-reflection for him and that it has made him to learn even more about the supporters of the Labour Party and how principled they are.

According to him, the voice of the people is important and that’s why his name was removed from the list. The Retired General stated that this has even fueled him more to channel his energy to other ways of helping the campaign.

He said,

”I believe that with the charter that the Labour is going to operate with the charter of Nigeria labour congress, things will be done such that every person will matter. What is the role of the campaign council in an organization like that, it is just maybe like one percent of what you are supposed to achieve.

So I will now channel my energy to all the other things that I have packaged. This has not affected my support at all, rather I’m encouraged the more. And I have discovered two things about the Obidients. These are group of people that nobody must take for granted and the party must not take them for granted as well.”
