Marcus Rashford is the subject of interest from PSG, who are lining up a sensational transfer swoop for the Manchester United striker and have reportedly met with his representatives in Paris for talks.

Manchester United have no intention of selling Marcus Rashford to Paris Saint-Germain – and are instead lining up a new contract.

The 24-year-old striker emerged as the subject of intense speculation on Thursday, as it was reported around Europe that PSG were plotting a shock move. Despite coming off the back of his his worst season in a United shirt, PSG are long time admirers of the 46-cap England international, and new boss Christophe Gaultier has confirmed that the French champions were in the market for a striker.

Rashford’s representatives travelled to Paris last week for transfer talks, but Mirror Football understands that the Red Devils aren’t considering parting ways with their homegrown star. Indeed, the Old Trafford hierarchy are keen to extend Rashford’s deal, which is currently set to expire in less than 12 months’ time.

While the prospect of a new challenge hasn’t been ruled out by the versatile forward, who shares a good relationship with PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe, his priority is to help new manager Erik ten Hag ensure that United reclaim their place the top of world football as one of Europe’s best teams.

But having been part of the club since the age of seven, Rashford is determined to experience for himself the glory days that he witnessed growing up in their famous academy.

Rashford produced a limp performance and missed a golden opportunity to score his first goal of the new term as the Red Devils lost their opening game of the new Premier League season in calamitous fashion. Brighton condemned Ten Hag and co to a dreadful 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford, putting the breaks on what had been a promising summer for United.
