The presidential candidate of the Labor Party has gotten the support of some political parties alleged to have been deregistered by INEC, the independent electoral commission.

Details from a notable news platform on Friday revealed that 15 political parties under the platform of coalition of good governance have endorsed Peter Obi for president of Nigeria in 2023.

Okey Chikwendu, the spokesman of the group added that members of the group had embarked on a mission in the past few days to look for a political party that has the interest of the people of Nigeria at heart and the results of the meeting is that Peter Obi is the most qualified presidential candidate who has what it takes to lead the people of Nigeria.

Recall that INEC had in 2020, deregistered some political parties for some sensitive reasons. Some parties that has never won election in the past were removed from the names of the parties that would take part in forthcoming elections.

According to a report from Punch News, the coalition of good governance on Friday, August 5, announced that it has endorsed the candidate of the Labor Party, Peter Obi as its preferred candidate in the forthcoming presidential election.

Part of the statement of the group reads ” We have earlier stated that the outcome of the political parties primaries for the presidential ticket and selection of the vice presidential tickets will determine which party we, the Coalition for Good Governance comprising of 15 deregistered political parties and some former presidential candidates would endorse and support for the 2023 presidential election.
