‘I Will End Christian Superiority, We’re Secular,’ Raila Has Nowhere to Hide Over Comment

Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu once said: “That Christians do not have a monopoly of God is an almost trite observation.”

Azimio la Umoja la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga is bucking a strong tide from a section of Kenyan Christians over a comment he made earlier this week.

Speaking during a forum with Muslim women, the former Prime Minister observed that Christianity had been glorified excessively at the expense of other religions.

He noted that he has witnessed cases of non-Christians being discriminated against in the country.

“The colonialists made us believe that Christianity is the most perfect religion and we are yet to outgrow that opinion,” he said.

The ODM supremo said “his administration” will protect Kenyans regardless of their religious persuasions.
