FUNNY: Meet Ernie Chambers, The Man Who Sued God To Court And His Reasons (Details below)

on

A Nebraska state senator, Ernie Chambers sued God to court. State Sen. Ernie Chambers filed the lawsuit seeking a permanent injunction against God. Ernie Chambers was sick and tired of God’s role in causing widespread death, destruction and terrorization of millions upon millions of the Earth’s inhabitants. So he sought a legal injunction.

Chambers countered by saying that The court itself acknowledges the existence of God. A consequence of that acknowledgment is a recognition of God’s omniscience. Since God knows everything, God has notice of this lawsuit.

In the lawsuit, Chambers said he’s tried to contact God numerous times. Chambers also says God has manifested neither compassion nor remorse, proclaiming that defendant will laugh when calamity comes. Chambers asks for the court to grant him a summary judgment.

He said as an alternative, he wants the judge to set a date for a hearing as expeditiously as possible and enter a permanent injunction enjoining God from engaging in the types of deleterious actions and the making of terroristic threats described in the lawsuit.

Chambers bases his ability to sue God, as, “that defendant, being omnipresent, is personally present in Douglas County.” Chambers, who skips morning prayers during the legislative session and often criticizes Christians, said he filed the lawsuit to show that anybody can file a lawsuit against anybody.

Eventually the lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice. The Nebraska court ruled they could not properly notify God because they did not have his address. Senator Chambers disagreed with the ruling, claiming that because God is omniscient and knows everything, he should have known he was being sued and appeared in court to defend himself.
