The Nigerian police, Ibadan command have reportedly arrested one 43- year- old pregnant woman identified as Omowunmi Joseph for killing her Igbo husband over the choice of the deceased man to marry another woman even though she was heavily pregnant.

According to the report gathered, Omowunmi had been having a running battle with her deceased Igbo husband at their home located in the Odoye area, Alaadorin, Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The report gathered that Omowunmi and her Igbo husband named Joseph Nwankwo had a heated argument for about 2 weeks over the sudden second wife that her husband is bringing from his village. The argument dragged till 2 am on Monday, April 4th.

The wife became furious to the extent that she waited for the husband to sleep before she allegedly stabbed him to death over the matter. After killing her husband, Omowunmi then reported herself to the police station claiming responsibility for her husband’ s death. The Iyaganku police area command took her to the Yemetu police division, close to the scene of the incident.

The remains of her husband, Joseph Nwankwo, have since been deposited in a morgue awaiting the family of the man to come and claim the corpse of their son for proper burial since there would not be a need to conduct any test on him.
