The 34-year-old allegedly raped a twenty-five-year-old woman on Sapele’s Amagiya road.

According to DSP Bright Edafe, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, the offender grabbed the victim and pulled her to his apartment while severely inebriated. Before forcing intercourse with her, he threatened to shoot her.

Following the act, he slipped into a deep sleep.

“The victim on noticing that the suspect was fast asleep sneaked out and ran to Sapele division where she reported the case. Consequently, patrol team/detectives were drafted to the scene. The suspect was promptly arrested,” Edafe said in the statement..
