Two No.7? Cavani & Ronaldo are both in Man Utd’s number 7 jersey on EPL website
The Premier League appear to have confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo’s new squad number at Manchester United — but all might not be as it seems..
Ronaldo, 36, re-signed for United on Friday in a sensational move after all indications looked like he was set to join rivals Manchester City.
However, United made their move late, and successfully persuaded Ronaldo to return to the club where he made his name between 2003-2009 before moving to Real Madrid.
The Portuguese has, of course, risen to become one of the game’s greatest ever players, winning everything with Real Madrid and proving he can perform in Italy with a successful spell at Juventus.
At United, he became synonymous with the No.7, and he mostly wore that squad number at the Bernabeu too. He kept the iconic number at Juventus, but Edinson Cavani currently occupies the shirt United so Ronaldo may be forced to pick a different number.
According to the Premier League website, however, Ronaldo has already been added to the United squad and is recorded as being given the no.7 again in the squad.
