Mino Raiola’s wage demands for Chelsea to sign Erling Haaland revealed
Bild have revealed some of the staggering demands of Mino Raiola from this summer when Chelsea were trying to tempt Erling Haaland to Stamford Bridge and some of them are beyond belief..
Before sealing a £98 million deal for Romelu Lukaku, it was widely reported that Chelsea were trying to sign Haaland yet they were ultimately put off by Raiola’s extortionate requests.
According to Bild, Raiola was asking Chelsea to pay Haaland £820,000 per week which would be part of a package worth up to £275 million.
On top of these payments for the Norwegian superstar, the super agent also demanded an incredible £34 million agent’s fee which ultimately deterred Chelsea from pursuing the player further.
Raiola, who is notoriously known for his extremely high demands, is one of the most wealthy and successful sports agents in the world with other clients such as Manchester United’s Paul Pogba.
Haaland is one of the most sought after players in Europe and once his £64 million release clause begins next summer, there is undoubtedly going to be a huge race amongst clubs such as Real Madrid, Manchester United and Manchester City for the forward.
Last season, the Norwegian international scored 41 goals in 41 games for Borussia Dortmund which shows why Chelsea were so desperate for his signature as the club were searching for a striker.
However, the Dortmund forward is set to stay in Germany for another season and when he was recently asked about all this speculation, he said: “I don’t really have much to say about this. I have three years left on my contract and I’m enjoying my time here (at Dortmund).
“Before yesterday, I didn’t speak to my agent in one month – I think you have the answer there.
“I don’t really care too much about that. It’s a lot of money – I hope it’s just rumours to be honest because that’s a lot of money for a person!”
