You talk too much, crush bandits – Christian leaders to El-Rufai
The leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has described Kaduna Governor, Nasir El-Rufai as talkative..
The religious body told El-Rufai to do more acting than talking by going after bandits wreaking havoc in his state.
Rev. Samson Ayokunle, CAN President in a statement declared that the spate of abductions in Kaduna was out of control.
The state has witnessed increased kidnappings in the last one year as bandits routinely invade communities and schools.
The most recent incident is the seizure of scores of Bethel Baptist College students. The school is located in Maramara, Chickun Local Government Area.
Ayokunle said the situation in Kaduna “has become quite terrible because of the uncouth, unbridled and acidic statements credited to Governor El-Rufai who appears to be talking too much than acting!”
The CAN chair noted that Nigeria is now at a level where its citizens are being devoured by terrorists and bandits.
He said while some people are working hard to climb the ladder of success and greatness, criminals are making a living from kidnapping and murdering fellow humans.
“They have turned themselves to beasts amidst us, thus causing pain and sending many to early graves”, Ayokunle regretted.
“For God’s sake, what did the students they kidnapped do against them? We hope they repent of this evil because they will never escape the judgement of God.”
CAN appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari and Service Chiefs to rise up to the situation and secure the country.
Ayokunle advised relevant agencies to improve on intelligence gathering and urged the federal and state government to provide jobs for young Nigerians
