Diego Maradona has been named the greatest footballer of all-time ahead of Lionel Messi and Pele in a brand new list.

The Argentine legend tragically died in 2020 and it was felt across the sporting world thanks to his legendary career.

He managed to drag his nation almost single-handedly to victory in the 1986 World Cup – establishing himself as a generational talent.
It has seen 90Min rank Maradona as the one true GOAT ahead of Pele and Messi, who sit second and third respectively.

Franz Beckenbauer and Johan Cruyff make up the rest of the top five, while Cristiano Ronaldo finds himself down in seventh.

Ronaldo and Messi are the only two active players to crack the top ten . Andres Iniesta is the next closest, down in 31st.
Other current stars to feature are Robert Lewandowski and 2018 Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric.
