A heartless man has been arrested for trying to escape after committing a heinous crime. In the disturbing development, the devious man from Concession in Mashonaland Central province was said to have filed a missing person’s report at the police station.

It was gathered that the 25-year-old Foster Chaka of Godzi village, was detained after he was reported to have allegedly lured his wife Winnie Magadu to a bush where he went on to choke her to death.

It was reported that the suspect accused his now-deceased wife of having an extramarital affair. After the altercation, Chaka lured his wife into a bush at White Cliff farm Concession.

The prosecution stated that while in the bush, “Chaka tied his wife’s hands with a white cloth, used another cloth to cover her nose and mouth thereby suffocating her to death. He allegedly choked his wife to death because he thought she was having an extramarital affair”.

“After killing his wife, Chaka left his wife’s body at the crime scene and went to the police station to file a missing person’s report. His plan to misdirect the police, flopped after the police preliminary investigations linked him to the grisly crime”.

It is the States case that Foster was not asked to plead when he appeared before magistrate Ethel Chichera, facing murder charges. Meanwhile, Magistrate Chichera denied his bail application and remanded him in custody to March 30. She, however, advised him to apply for bail through the High Court.
