Finally Nigerian Youth Are Waking Up to End Bad Government, See What They Did (Details below)
Bad governance is one of the major challenges faced by Nigerians. Those that occupy political offices who expected to serve the citizens diligently have turned their offices to looting avenues.
This selfish behavior of the minority has made the majority of Nigeria suffer in their father’ s land, especially the youths who are unemployed despite their formal education. Many youths are jobless, yet they are made to face difficulties as the government failed to perform to people’ s expectations.
The youths who are said to be leaders of tomorrow have finally found their voices to speak against the bad governance. It all started when they raised against the injustice and the brutal behavior of SARS, a section of the Nigeria Police Force. The protest which forced the government to disband the unit of police was stage by the youths.
Although SARS was disbanded, that doesn’ t end all the problems being faced by the country. Therefore, the youths are at it again as they stage another peaceful protest at the Headquarters of Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF, in Abuja. They promised to take the protest to another level if the government failed to meet their demand. So what are they demanding?
The youths disrupted activities and stopped staff from accessing their office demanded NGF give attention to Primary Healthcare facilities across the country. The youths under the Nigerian Youth Union (NYU), were led by its president, Chinonso Obasi, to the protest venue to demand better healthcare for the poor Nigerians.
Recall that it was reported that the group issued an ultimatum to the Governors to ensure they give quality attention to improve the PHCs across the country to add value to the lives of Nigerians.
The leader said He said: ” We have privileged information from the federal ministry of health that revival of the PHCs is on the governors because the health is on the concurrent list. That was why we took the protest to NGF and the Association of Local Government of Nigerian(ALGON).
“We are deeply pained and grossly disenchanted that some Governors are dictating what happens at the local government level with particular emphasis on directly controlling and pocketing a great chunk of local government funds. “
