Check Out What Was Discovered In A Full Loaded Truck By The Bayelsa State Police Operatives (Details below)
The Bayelsa State police command has apprehended two persons suspected to be Criminal in a truck fully loaded with mattresses with an excuse that it is for those who suffer damages as a result of the flood.
According to the information made available to newsmen, it is alleged that the suspects stole the mattresses from a shop dealing with mattresses and selling at wholesale prices in Yenagoa the Bayelsa State capital.
The action taken by the police which leads to the discovery and arrest of the suspects was as a result of an alert gotten from the Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO) in the state over missing mattresses in a warehouse somewhere in Yenagoa. (Undisclosed location).
In a statement issued by the Bayelsa State police public relations officer PPRO in the person of Mr. Asinim Bustwat, the incident was confirmed and he stated that two persons who are Shehu Yola and Sunday Emmanuel have been apprehended as suspects in conjunction with the stolen mattresses.
His statement read; ” Following a tip- off, Operatives of Bayelsa State Police Command have arrested one Shehu Yola ‘ m’ 42 years and one Sunday Emmanuel ‘ m’ 28 years, at Okaka, Yenagoa. ”
The police spokesperson disclosed that the two persons suspected to have a break- in and stole the mattresses at the warehouse committed the alleged crime on Thursday 18th of February 2021 at around 9 pm.
The statement read; ” The suspects were arrested on 18 February 2021, at about 2100hours, with a truckload of mattresses suspected to be stolen property. ”
Furthermore, Mr. Asinim Bustwat said that the Bayelsa State commissioner of police has issued a legally binding command for the case to be thoroughly investigated to know exactly where the mattresses came from and where it was taken to.
His statement read; ” The Commissioner of Police CP Mike Okoli fsi has ordered for discreet Investigation to unravel the source of the mattresses. “
