Top Lagos Socialite, Dapo Ojora, Commits Suicide (Details below)

Lagos socialite, Dapo Ojora, who is a brother-in-law of former Senate President Bukola Saraki, is dead.

According to reports, Dapo shot himself in the head on Friday evening.

Before his death, Dapo had mysteriously escaped death sometime back via a ghastly power bike accident, which forced him to beat a retreat from the public space.

It, however, came as a shock when news broke out that the socialite had allegedly committed suicide.

His family is however yet to confirm the reports.

Dapo Ojora is one of the sons of board room guru, Otunba Adekunle Ojora and Erelu Ojuolape Ojora.

His death has however sparked controversies as some reports say it was suicide, while some family sources stated that it was an accidental discharge.

Meanwhile, before his death, Dapo had a marital crisis with his wife, Patricia, a lawyer and an entrepreneur.

They started having a strained relationship a few years ago and they both decided to go their separate ways for undisclosed reasons.

“His marital woes were a huge blow to him especially because of the love he shared with his wife, Patricia. And much as he tried to put up a brave face, his marriage problems were too hard for him to handle as he couldn’t bear to lose his loving wife,” The Street Journal wrote.

The couple, however, reconciled last year when they hosted the crème de la crème to the wedding of their daughter, Tara, in their family house in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Nine years ago, the Ojora family was also thrown into mourning following the demise of the Dapo’s older brother and scion of their family, Gboyega Ojora, fondly referred to as Gbegi.

Aged 50, Gbegi died of a heart attack at First Consultant Hospital, Ikoyi. He left behind a wife, Solveigh Omosalewa, and a son, Toluwani.

He noted that he had come up with the idea because he is surrounded by ladies and due to the publicity the incident garnered, he is about to start a foundation for pregnant women.

Explaining further, Pretty Mike said, “We are in a country that stereotypes women. No woman can get a job when she is pregnant. So, the question is, how would they survive, especially in this period when COVID-19 has sacked some husbands or partners from their jobs?
