This 7 Year Old Girl Has Two Pet Snakes! (Photos below)
The world is full of different people, with different lifestyles.
While most people would be terrified to come face – to – face with a tiny snake, this father and daughter from Surrey, keep two 15 – ft reticulated pythons, as pets.
The dad, Ed Taoka, is a massage therapist by profession, and is on a mission to changing people’s attitude towards snakes.
His own interests in snakes began when he was a young boy, and he says the animals have helped him overcome social anxiety.
“What I’ve been most surprised about is how calm they make me feel when I’m holding them. ”
In response to those who think he’s irresponsible for allowing his 7 – year – old daughter, Emi, to play with the pythons, he says he would never leave her unsupervised with the reptiles, and added that they’re even nicer than people even imagine them to be.
“The first time my daughter decided she wanted to touch the snakes, she was only about a year and a half old. The relationship between her and the snakes has gotten stronger over time. ”
Once he believed that she had the understanding to be gentle, he started letting Emi interact with them, to show them that she was not food to them. According to him, the animals are always well fed with defrosted rats and rabbits, every two weeks.
He said they would not bite his daughter, as long as she handled them gently and did not pose any threat to them.
