Investigations are ongoing on the murder of Gabriel Bassey Edward in Ifa community, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
A certain Winner’s Chapel pastor, in Ifa community, Uyo who’s an alleged suspect has been arrested.
The said pastor was last seen by a neighbour coming out of Gabriel’s residence last week Monday with bloodstains on his garment, after the neighbour overhead someone screaming JESUS loud.
The neighbour asked why the pastor had blood on his clothes, but the reply given was that he was working on the deceased premises and got an injury.
Gabriel was murdered with a matchet, and the items belonging to winners chapel that were kept in his apartment taken away, apart from some plastic chairs and the church banner.
We’re yet to hear from the Police on the proceedings thus far. We’re hoping to hear a positive response from the uniform men in as much as I’m told the alleged might pull in financial capacity to exonerate himself, the brother of the deceased revealed.
According to reports, the motive behind why the Pastor killed him is because the deceased wanted to expose the pastor.
Gabriel reportedly allowed Winners Chapel to drop their items in his apartment, for safety. He gave the pastor the spare key for ease of access.
After some time he noticed that his household items were missing and this has never happened. He met the Pastor and followed him to know where he’s living, but upon reaching, he saw his missing household items in the pastor’s house. He informed the Pastor about the missing items and he allowed him to take the items away.
“We are unsure if the pastor killed him so that his cover will not blow as he was killed 2days after his visit to the pastor’s house.
I’m aware these process will not bring Gabriel back to life but it’ll be improper we let this slide when we have the opportunity to let his case be handled well and whoever is involved in his murder, be tried in court. I’d please urge us all to seek justice for Gabriel Bassey Edward.”
