Egyptian Socialite Arrested For Posing In front Of A Pyramid (See Photos)
An Egyptian Socialite and Model has been arrested with a photographer for posing in front of the pyramids in a tight-fitting version of a pharaonic dress as part of crackdown on ‘public morals’.
State news outlet Akhbar el-Yorum reported that Shimi had appeared before a public prosecutor and argued that her goal had been to promote tourism rather than offend Egypt, the Middle East Eye reported.
She reportedly said she had been unaware that photography on archaeological sites without a permit was forbidden.
