As the fight against insurgency continues in the Nothern part of the country, reports gathered have showed that the Borno state Governor, Zulum, on Monday while heading back home from Jakana of Konduga local government area of the state, spotted a convoy of the dreaded BokoHaram terrorists ahead of him, but did not allow military men that were with him to engage the trerrorists.

According to the veteran journalist, Babajide Otitoju, while speaking in a Facebook post on Monday, it was revealed that the Boko Haram “convoy” was spotted ahead of the Governor’s entoyrage in the same area where they kidnapped 35 persons three days ago.

Shockingly, it was gathered that no attempt was made to engage the military, as the Governor disclosed that the risk was not worth it, as the routine security men on the governor’s convoy who travelled with him were not deemed enough to get the job done.

However, while lamenting the deteriorating insecurity situation in the country, Babajide Otitoju said that it’s about time the country wipe out these BokoHaram fighters out of that area and kept travellers safe.

We have military presence in both Auno and Jakana, we’ve got to take the battle to these undesirable elements. He added.

In his words, he said:

“Borno state governor went to Jakana, Konduga local government area of the state today. But as the governor was rounding up his on-the-spot assessment and heading back home they spotted a Boko Haram “convoy” ahead of them in the same area where they kidnapped 35 persons three days ago.”

“No attempt was made to engage the terrorists. When I asked why no effort was made to engage them I was told the risk was not worth it as the routine security men on the governor’s convoy who travelled with him were not deemed enough to get the job done.”

“It’s about time we wiped these guys out of that area and kept travellers safe. We have military presence in both Auno and Jakana, we’ve got to take the battle to these undesirable elements.”

Consequently, many diverse reactions have continued to trail the development, as many people said the military have given too much room to the BokoHaram fighters and that has made them to grow confidence overtime.

Also, some others argued that there was need to sack the current Service Chiefs, before tangible results can be seen in regards to the fight against insurgency in the North.

Similarly, in your view, do you think the Federal Government and the Nigerian military are doing well enough to put an end to this BokoHaram terrorists menance?
