Arsene Wenger Warns PSG Not To Sign Lionel Messi With Strong Reasons (Details below)

Former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has warned Paris Saint-Germain not to sign Lionel Messi next summer in the belief that the Barcelona talisman would upset the balance of Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

The Argentinian talisman has little over six months remaining on his current contract and appears unlikely to sign an extension with the Catalan giants lurching from one crisis to another.

Barcelona’s form under new manager Ronald Koeman has deteriorated rapidly in recent weeks, while off the field the club remains in huge financial difficulties ahead of the imminent presidential elections.

Remember that Messi handed in a transfer request last summer but was begrudgingly forced to remain with Barcelona unwilling to bow to his demands and the 33-year-old unwilling to enter into a protracted legal battle.

PSG, whose current star man Neymar has aired to his desire to team up with Messi again, along with Manchester City, are the favourites to sign the six-times Ballon d’Or winner but Wenger believes the Ligue 1 giants would be making a mistake.

The former Arsenal boss told Europe 1:

‘Lionel Messi is one of the two best players in the world. Those who will replace Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi are already at PSG. ‘After that, it’s a question of balance in the club, a technical balance and a financial balance. Can you keep the balance at PSG by bringing in players like Messi? I’m not sure.’

Barcelona, meanwhile, were well beaten by Juventus in last night’s Champions League group stage clash which saw Cristiano Ronaldo score twice at Camp Nou.

Speaking about the supposed rivalry between himself and Messi afterward, Ronaldo said: ‘Leo and me shared the last twelve, thirteen or fourteen years of our lives.

‘I’ve always had a cordial relationship with him, I never saw him as a rival. It’s the press that creates rivalry. If you ask Leo, he’ll tell you the same thing. It’s always beautiful to play against him. Obviously, people will talk about our rivalry when we meet, but for me, it’s just a great privilege.

‘I faced him while with Manchester United, with Real Madrid and now with Juventus. As far as I’m concerned, I’m happy about my goals and for me, managing to score is always the source of greater joys. Maybe it’s even better when I play against the team which he is playing in.’

“You Did It Better Than Anyone Else, Including Lionel Messi” – Cristiano Ronaldo’s Sister Mocks Messi In A New Picture She Posted

Elma dos Santos Aveiro, Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister, has published a controversial photo of Lionel Messi kneeling at the feet of the Portuguese forward after Juventus’ resounding 3-0 win against Barcelona in the Champions League.

The photo received over 34,650 likes on Instagram in one day, and she had a positive message for Cristiano.

“My King. The best ever. Pride of my life,” Aveiro wrote.

This is not the first time that the 47-year-old Aveiro has been active on social media with regard to her younger brother.

In August 2020 she claimed that Cristiano was left to do everything for Juventus.

“You did it better than anyone else, I’m proud to see you play and see your dedication, but unfortunately you can’t do it all by yourself – it’s impossible!” Aveiro wrote.
