Ex-Super Eagles striker, Obafemi Martins joins new club
Former Super Eagles striker, Obafemi Martins, has signed for Chinese Super League side Wuhan FC, on a one-year contract.
The 35-year-old joined as a free agent, after his deal with Shanghai Shenhua was terminated..
Martins had previously featured for Inter Milan, Newcastle, Wolfsburg, Rubin Kazan, Birmingham, Levante and Seattle Sounders in the MLS.
While Martins played in Europe, he scored a total of 72 goals in 239 appearances.
He also netted 40 goals in 72 appearances in the MLS.
Wuhan are currently fourth in the CSL Group B table with 16 points from 11 games.
Martins is in line to make his debut, when they face Chongqing Dangdai Lifan in their next match
