Miserable Man City stunned by Norwich

Teemu Pukki was on target again as Norwich City stunned Manchester City with a thrilling 3-2 victory at Carrow Road.

Kenny McLean took advantage of some poor marking to head home from a Emiliano Buendia corner before Todd Cantwell sent the home fans into pandemonium with a second shortly after.
Sergio Aguero pulled one back on the stroke of half time with his sixth goal of the season, heading home from Bernardo Silva’s cross to give City a lifeline.

But a calamitous error from Nicolas Otamendi allowed Pukki to slot home a third to put Norwich in the driving seat.

Rodri’s strike from 20 yards gave the champions a glimmer of hope in the 88th minute, but Norwich held on for a famous victory.

Much was made of Pep Guardiola’s decision to leave playmaker Kevin De Bruyne on the bench, given Norwich’s encouraging displays against Chelsea and Liverpool earlier this season.

Daniel Farke’s men had been struggling for numbers due to injuries to the extent that they were forced to put two goalkeepers on the bench, but their counter-attacking tactics paid off as they benefited from a string of defensive errors.

Despite several attempts at goal towards the end, a huge effort from the newly-promoted side helped them snuff out the threat from City’s triumvirate of Aguero, Sterling and Bernardo Silva as they secured a first victory over the champions since 1993.
