Nigeria vs Algeria: Referee that handled Madagascar defeat to take charge of semi-final
Gambian referee, Bakary Papa Gassama, has been appointed by the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF), the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final clash between Nigeria and Algeria.
Gassama was in the middle, when the Super Eagles lost to the Barea of Madagascar in their final group fixture.
He will be assisted by Senegalese referee El Hadji Malick Samba and Seydou Tiama from Burkina Faso.
South Africa’s Victor Gomes will be the fourth official.
Dutchman Pol van Boekel will head the VAR panel and will be assisted by Zambian referee Janny Sikazwe, who was also on the panel in the Nigeria vs South Africa game and South Africa’s Zakhele Siwela.
Kick off is 8pm West African time.
