Europa: Giroud hat-trick leads five-star Chelsea into the quarters
Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud took his tally in the Europa League this season to nine after plundering a perfect hat-trick against Dynamo Kiev.
Chelsea cruised into the Europa League quarter-finals as Olivier Giroud’s hat-trick helped secure a resounding 5-0 win over Dynamo Kiev at the Olympic Stadium on Thursday.
The Blues travelled to Ukraine with a commanding 3-0 lead from the first leg in London a week ago and any faint hopes that Alyaksandr Khatskevich’s side had of clawing their way back into the tie were extinguished by Giroud’s fifth-minute opener.
