Dangerous Gang Member Who Robs Traders On Zuba Market Days Makes Confession

A gang member who specializes in robbing traders on Zuba market days has been nabbed and has made confession.
According to Punch Metro, the Niger State Police Command has arrested a suspected car thief in Madalla, Suleja Local Government Area of the state.

The suspect, Usman Lawal, was apprehended by operatives attached to the Madalla Police Station following a tip-off.

It was learnt that one Blessing Friday from Madalla, had on Christmas Day reported that she was attacked by three men around 9pm while returning from the Zuba Market.

According to her, her assailants, who were armed with knives, made away with N50,000 cash and a Tecno handset valued at N7,000.

Northern City News gathered that the hoodlums often trailed their victims from the market before robbing them.

Further checks revealed that the suspects were known in the neighbourhood for waylaying traders returning from the Zuba Market.

Lawal told our correspondent that he robbed his victims along with two of his accomplices, Abbas and Usman, who are now at large.

“Any day traders are returning from the Zuba Market, we ambush and robbed them of money and other valuables; we beat up those who resist us. Every market day in Zuba, we map out plans on how to rob the traders,” he stated.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar, said the command was hunting the fleeing suspects, noting that the case would soon be charged to court.
