More trouble for Okorocha as Imo governorship candidate vows to probe him
The governorship candidate of the Reform and Advancement Party in Imo State , Kingdom Okere, has promised to probe the administration of the governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha , if elected in 2019 .Okere, in statement issued on Friday in Owerri, stated that he would make Okorocha account for all the money that had come to the state treasury since 2011.
The governorship candidate said, “ I will ensure the recovery of every looted fund meant for the state and send the perpetrators to jail .
“As I lunch my governorship campaign, top on my agenda is to recover every kobo stolen from Imo treasury since 2011.
“I will probe the diversion of Paris refunds, Imo bailouts, and eight years of alleged mismanagement of Imo local government allocations , prosecute the looters and send them to prison .
“I will set up a commission of inquiry to examine illegal land transaction under Rochas Okorocha ’ s administration , if there is any . ”
Okere further promised that if elected , Imo will become the centre of learning in Africa .
“We will produce a new breed of students /graduates with the ability to empathise , critique , protect , love, inspire , make , design, restore our Imo State .
“We will partner with Google and Facebook to empower Imo youths to create wealth through the internet , ” he said.
“Payment of salaries and pensions , provision of basic amenities, and fixing of roads , the protection of life and property of Imo people are not campaign promises , but primary responsibility and obligation of every government.
“ I will partner with the Chinese government to build electronics and automobile industries in Imo State to create jobs for our youths , ” he added .
