U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions resigns at Trump’s request
The US attorney general , Jeff Sessions , said he was resigning Wednesday at the request of President Donald Trump in a move that raises questions over the future of a bombshell probe into Trump ’ s alleged collusion with Russia .
“ At your request I am submitting my resignation , ” Sessions wrote in his letter to Trump ; noting , “ We have restored and upheld the rule of law — a glorious tradition that each of us has a responsibility to safeguard . ”
