80 INEC Staff Fail Promotion Exam

A statement signed by the Information and Voter Education Committee, revealed that some INEC staff who sat for the 2018 promotion exam, failed. 
 

No fewer than 80 staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have failed the promotion examination conducted by the Appointment, Promotion and Disciplinary Committee (APDC).

 
The statement signed by the Member, Information and Voter Education Committee (IVEC), Mohammed Kudu Haruna, disclosed that out of the 927 junior staff who sat for the 2018 promotion examinations, 847 passed and were promoted accordingly.

 

Making further explanations, the statement disclosed that of the 1,847 senior staff that took the examinations, 1,517 passed, adding that 1,362 were however promoted in accordance with the existing vacancies.

 

According to the statement; “The INEC held its weekly meeting and considered among other things, the report of its appointment, promotion and disciplinary Committee (APDC) on the 2018 promotion exercise.
“In furtherance of the Commission’s commitment to the welfare of its staff, 2,209 were promoted. Out of a total of 927 junior staff who sat for the 2018 promotion examinations, 847 passed and were promoted accordingly.
“Of the 1,847 senior staff who took the exams, 1,517 passed. However, 1,362 were promoted in accordance with the existing vacancies. Out of this number, 315 persons were promoted to directorate cadre, eight of whom have become directors,” the statement read.
