Manchester City Belgian star, Kevin De Bruyne is set to be sidelined for up to three months after the midfielder sustained a knee injury in training on Wednesday morning.
Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has been ruled out for three months, the club have confirmed.

City confirmed that De Bruyne, who injured the knee in training, has damaged the lateral collateral ligament (LCL) in his right knee and, while he will not require surgery, will miss three months of the season.

“Manchester City can confirm Kevin De Bruyne has suffered a lateral collateral ligament (LCL) lesion in his right knee,” read a statement on the club’s website.

“No surgery is required, and the midfielder is expected to be out for around three months.”

De Bruyne played the final half hour as City began their Premier League title defence with a 2-0 win over Arsenal on Sunday, having only recently returned to training following Belgium’s run to the World Cup semi-finals.

He fired eight goals and made 16 assists as City romped to the league title with a record-breaking 100 points last season.
WHAT GAMES COULD DE BRUYNE MISS?

Should De Buryne’s recovery go to plan, City can expect the midfielder to return to action after the international break in November.
