The senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, has finally condemned the unlawful invasion of the national assembly premises by men of the State Security Service, DSS.Many Nigerians including the former President Atiku Abubakar have equally faulted the act. The opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has equally suffixed their voice in condemning the action too.
Recall that the acting president, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, was among the first Nigerians that frowned at the DSS’s action which finally saw the sack of the Director General, State Security Service, Lawal Musa Daura and the immediate appointment of Matthew Seiyefa, as the Acting Director General.

Speaking after cancelling today’s emergency meeting with both house of Representatives and Senate respectively, Saraki opined, “The heavy presence of armed security men who unnecessarily militarized the National Assembly and harassed legislators and the workers in the complex cannot be justified in a democracy.

We urge Nigerians and the international community to condemn this illegal invasion of the National Assembly complex and the attempt to asphyxiate the legislature as undemocratic, uncivilized and irresponsible.”
