Kenyan referee, Range Marwa, who was set to officiate the World Cup until a scandal blew up that prospect, has been banned for life from all football-related activities by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Marwa was seen in amateur footage released by a Ghanaian journalist allegedly receiving a bribe.

The footage shocked the footballing world and was released days to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

CAF’s move deals a death blow to what was a very promising career.

Here is what the residents of Garissa had to say about the development:

”I feel for him. He had a very bright future ahead of him,” Salma Juno said.

”Well, he was caught receiving a bribe which is against FIFA regulations and he has to pay the price,” Khatib Galgalo said.

”We should learn to live honest lives. This is what happens when you take short cuts,” Saqfi Ali said.

”Now his name is totally destroyed. It is a mark on his reputation that will never go away,” Guyo Bano said.

”I think that CAF was rather harsh on him. They should have given him at maximum two years. It’s too harsh,” Hamza Doyo said.
