BREAKING: Kano Assembly impeaches Speaker Abdullahi Atta
Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly Abdullahi Atta has been impeached, Concise News has reliably gathered.
Twenty-seven lawmakers, it was learned, signed the impeachment notice which was served to the Speaker upon his arrival at the House.
It is understood that Alhassan Rurum has been sworn in by the Clerk of the House as Atta’s replacement.
Atta was not the only principal officer of the House impeached on Monday morning.
The Major Leader has been replaced with Bappa Babba, while Kabiru Hassan is the new Deputy Majority Leader and Abdulrahaman Madari as the Chief Whip.
