Manchester United have settled on a salary for Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo over his reported return to the club.

The Portugal captain is being linked with a Manchester United return after hinting his time at Real Madrid was coming to an end.

The 33-year-old propelled the La Liga giants to Champions League glory for the third time in a roll as they beat Liverpool 3-1 in the final in Kiev.

Speaking afterwards however, Ronaldo hinted at a possible exit by saying, “In the next few days I will give an answer to the fans that have always been on my side”.

Express UK reports that Manchester United are willing to offer him a huge £15.8m a year.

The report also claimed that Ronaldo wants to quit Real because of their refusal to meet his wage demands.

Yet, United are reportedly confident that they can convince the Portugal international to take a pay cut.

But whether the sheer prospect of a move back to Old Trafford is enough to secure his signature remains to be seen.
