Bailly gives Mourinho condition to remain at Manchester United

Manchester United defender, Eric Bailly, has said he will only remain at the club, if he is not sidelined by manager Jose Mourinho.
Bailly struggled for game time towards the end of this term, starting just twice in United’s last 10 games.

Mourinho explained his decision was down to giving players who are going to the World Cup in Russia more playing time.

The 24-year-old Ivorian was completely excluded from the squads against Tottenham and Arsenal in April despite being fit, but returned to the line-up on the last day of the Premier League season against Watford and made the bench for the FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea.

The Manchester Evening News reports that Bailly is ‘very happy’ at United amid speculation over his future, but a source close to the defender says he is unwilling to tolerate a peripheral situation next season.

United are working on a deal to sign Tottenham centre-back Toby Alderweireld, having bought Lindelof from Benfica for £30.9million last year.
